Newborn Photography Award

I am so excited to announce that not one, but TWO of my newborn portraits were awarded Bronze for the SHINE Photo Awards!

This organization hosts regular competitions and I am so honored to be included among so many talented and creative artist in my field. You can read more about the  SHINE Awards here and view all of the other award winning images that won, along side mine.

The two images that won are from Baby Veera’s newborn session, and from Baby Liam’s newborn session. Both images are whimsical and showcase just how fleeting the newborn phase is.

Submitting my photography portraits to competitions is an important goal of mine because it really helps me raise the bar each and every session – so that every image I create raises my professional and artistic standards.

When it comes to newborn photography sessions, a great deal of pre-planning goes into place – from choosing the color scheme, the poses and props. There’s so much work that goes into a newborn session before I even pick up the camera! But all of these elements, along with technical aspects such as lighting and editing, all contribute to the skill and vision that is required when you’re a dedicated newborn photographer.

The newborn photography profession can be a bit lonesome because it is mostly just me behind the camera, which is why it’s so gratifying to be awarded for my efforts by my industry.
