I first met baby Dhruv’s family long before his first birthday, when his mama reached out while he was still in the NICU. Dhruv was a premie, and we planned his newborn session around the meaning of his beautiful name: ‘the North Star.’ His first portraits were filled with celestial, whimsical details, and it was the sweetest full-circle moment to welcome him back to my Frisco, Texas studio for his one-year Mughal-inspired cake smash. Designing a Custom Cake Smash Set for This Little Prince

For Dhruv’s first birthday, we blended his original celestial theme with a regal Mughal-inspired design that celebrated his Indian heritage. Think rich jewel tones, ornate patterns, and little nods to royal palaces, all styled at a baby’s scale. The set felt like a tiny throne room created just for him, with his cake at the center and twinkling, starry details that echoed his North Star name. Telling the Story of Baby’s First Year

One of my favorite parts of this work is watching my tiny newborns return as curious, expressive one-year-olds. Seeing Dhruv sit where he once slept, now giggling and smashing cake under the same stars that inspired his newborn session, was incredibly special.
