As a Frisco newborn photographer serving families across Frisco, Plano, and the greater Dallas–Fort Worth area, I’m always looking for ways to refine my craft and bring a luxury portrait experience to my clients. While I’m known locally as a Dallas maternity photographer and baby photographer, I also believe that the best artists never stop learning. Continuing education and creative inspiration are an important part of delivering beautiful, timeless imagery for the families I photograph.
In 2025, I achieved a major bucket-list goal when I traveled to Dubai to attend an exclusive photography workshop led by internationally recognized Ana Brandt. Traveling across the world to learn from one of the most respected names in newborn and maternity photography was an experience I had dreamed about for years.

Standing in the desert thousands of miles from home, camera in hand, photographing stunning maternity portraits felt surreal. It was a powerful reminder that when you pursue your dreams boldly, incredible opportunities can unfold. The knowledge and inspiration I gained during this workshop continue to shape the work I create today as a DFW newborn photographer, influencing everything from posing and lighting to the safe and gentle care I bring to every newborn session.
Learning From One of the Best in the Industry
Working directly with a celebrity baby photographer like Ana Brandt was an invaluable experience. Ana has photographed countless newborns, celebrities, and families throughout her career, and her knowledge of the craft is extraordinary.
Throughout the workshop, we focused deeply on:

One of the most important parts of the workshop was the extensive training in newborn safety and posing.
Newborn photography is a specialized field that requires far more than a beautiful camera or good lighting. It requires patience, experience, and a deep understanding of how to safely pose and support a baby.
During the workshop we covered:

• Proper spotter positioning
• Safe transitions between poses

Safety is always my top priority during newborn sessions. Parents trust me with their most precious gift, and I take that responsibility incredibly seriously. Continuing to refine my safety practices ensures that every baby I photograph is cared for with the highest level of professionalism.
The Magic of Photographing Maternity in the Dubai Desert
While every part of the workshop was valuable, the highlight of the entire trip was the maternity photography portion held in the stunning desert landscape outside Dubai.
There is something indescribably magical about the desert. The endless sand dunes, the golden light, and the quiet stillness created the perfect backdrop for maternity portraits.
During the session, we had the incredible opportunity to photograph three professional models in the desert. Each model brought a different look and style, allowing us to experiment with posing, wardrobe, and composition.

This portion of the workshop allowed me to fully step into my artistry as a luxury maternity photographer. I explored elegant posing, flowing fabrics, and dramatic silhouettes against the sand dunes. The result was imagery that felt powerful, feminine, and timeless.
Moments like that remind me why I fell in love with photography in the first place.
The Beauty of Dubai and Its People
Beyond the photography, the experience of traveling to Dubai itself was unforgettable.
Dubai is a city that feels both modern and timeless — where luxury architecture meets rich cultural tradition. Everywhere I went, I was struck by the kindness and warmth of the local people.
The hospitality was incredible, and I made many new friends during the workshop. Photographers from different countries came together with one shared passion: capturing beautiful moments and telling meaningful stories through images.
Photography has a way of connecting people from all over the world, and this trip was a perfect example of that.
A Manifestation Years in the Making
What made this experience even more meaningful was that it was something I had envisioned years before it happened.
I remember thinking about traveling internationally for photography education and dreaming of being surrounded by talented artists while creating beautiful work. At the time, it felt far away — almost like a dream.
Yet there I was, standing in the desert, thousands of miles from home, doing exactly what I had imagined.
It was a powerful reminder that when you dare to ask for what you want — and take bold steps toward it — the universe often opens doors in ways you never expected.
That moment will stay with me forever.
