WHAT IS A CAKE SMASH?
A Cake smash session is when you give your baby a mini cake to “smash” to mark the occasion of them turning one.
Our full service photography studio specializes in cake smash photography, so we have everything you’ll need for your baby’s session – and you don’t even have to clean up afterwards!
WHAT'S INCLUDED
At our studio we have a variety of unique backdrops, balloons of all colors, confetti and cake stands. In addition, we also have outfits and crowns so that you don’t have to stress about arranging that too.
All you need to do is show up with your baby and enjoy the experience!
WHEN TO BOOK
We recommend booking your cake smash at least a month before your baby turns one so that you can use your portraits for party decor, and birthday invites.
However, the best time to book is when you’re ready to celebrate.

Cake smash sessions at Malka Ahmed Photography, Dallas Cake Smash Photography specialist, are an incredibly fun experience for the whole family. We infuse the session with excitement by incorporating bubbles, toys, and occasional Ms. Rachel videos.
Not all babies come into the session and are ready to be photographed, and that’s ok. This is why we like to start off the session with formal portraits, where baby can just be themselves without the pressure of having to smash a cake right away. We usually try and include some portraits with family members too, as we find it usually warms baby up to the experience.
We’ve photographed nearly 100 babies and know how to make this special milestone an event you won’t forget.
Are You Ready To Party?
What is your session fee?
Our session fee is $350 and includes a full session at our studio. Art work, portraits and digital files are not included in your session fee and are sold separately. Our packages start at $990 and a la carte items at $190.
How many outfit changes can my baby have?
As many as you’d like, but keep in mind most babies hate being changed too many times in a short amount of time. We recommend clients bring at least one special outfit that be used for the formal and family portraits.
What type of themes do you provide?
All of our sessions are customized just for your baby! If you don’t have a specific theme in mind we have many different sets on hand and ready to go here!
What if my baby cries the whole time?
We do our absolute best to make sure that your baby is happy and comfortable at our studio, however if your baby is unhappy we have ways to still photograph your baby in ways that omit all the tears and tantrums. Our cameras are super fast, and so if your baby smiles even briefly, we’re able to capture that moment.
Where are you located?
Our commercial studio space is located at 7800 Preston Rd Suite 149 Plano, TX. We are minutes away from Dallas PKWY and 121.
What sort of art work do you offer?
Our studio offers a variety of unique art products that are timeless in design. We offer custom albums, gallery wraps, framed art work and our popular, Storyboard Collage.
Do you offer digital files?
Digital files are complimentary with every matching art work that you purchase and are printable up to 8×10″.
My baby has food allergies, what are you going to do to make sure they are safe?
Baby safety is our no. 1 priority. We work with local bakeries and try our best to accomodate allergies, however if your baby’s allergies are severe we can always substitute a cake with fruit, pasta and any other food.
